PRCP is tested per API-RP-17B, manufactured per API-17-J, and end fittings per API-17K.
The man made armor fibers reinforcement allow hydrotesting at up to 1 ½ Xs design MAOP.
PRCP ‘s design incorporated 2 or 3 layers of armor fiber reinforcement depending on pressure operation. These armor fibers are then sandwiched between an inner core and outer jacket of continuous thermoplastic polypropylene or one of the various super polymers that enjoy superior resistance to permability, chemical attack or temperature.
Terminations can be a varity depending on corrosion intensity and hydrocarbon production. They vary from bare steel for sweet gas, zink chromate clad, stainless steel and finally Fortron (PPS) fusion bonded steel.
PRCP’s performance offers the highest Reynolds Factor, lowest
Delta P in the industry and these properties never diminish nor
deteriorate from scale or corrosion. A
major unique attribute of PRCP with Forton (PPS) inner core is that
asphalt / paraffin / wax will not adhere to its ultra smooth / slick
inner surface as Fortron is not hydrocarbon base manufacture.
No other pipe nor composite offers this outstanding feature.
Lengths of PRCP are field joined by means of a varity of end fitting termination designs which are either flanged or threaded.
Resistal Composite Pressure Classes and Dimensions
Transport of reels:
A standard drop deck ( 48’ ) can legally carry 4 standard 8’ x 10’ reels, a 53’ drop deck can carry 5 std. 8’ x 10’ reels.
A double drop deck can carry 3 std. 8’ x 12’ reels.
Polymeric has unique hydraulic “pick up / lay down” expandable reel trailers. These trailers can “self load” reels of factory coiled pipe standing on the ground in diameters from 8’ thru 16 ½’ with weights up to including 35,000 lbs.
These reel trails expand from 9.0’ wide for roadability to 12.0’ at the job location. Being fully hydraulic, they not only unreel the PRCP coiled pipe but can return to re-coil the pipe upon the same reels if the ROW is different or production circumstances changes.
